SAFETY AND SECURITY

All Christians must contribute

Crime is rife in South Africa and every true Christian has the calling to render support for the prevention and investigation of crime. The Bible teaches us that God has endowed official structures with the power to protect the innocent and to punish criminals. Even if criminal justice structures are perceived not to function optimally and even to contribute to injustice in some instances, Christians should stand together in using their democratic rights in South Africa to contribute positively to remedy shortcomings and support these structures to fulfil their God-given role in society.

Appeal to all Christians and Christian Congregations

Every church is encouraged to introduce a plan of action to equip all Christians to put their weight behind crime prevention and investigation. Contact and dialogue between churches, the South African Police and other criminal justice structures will prove invaluable to an endeavour to enhance the moral quality of these structures and to deploy all Christians in the struggle against crime. South Africa cannot afford the existing antagonism of many of its citizens against criminal justice structures - especially not the antagonism of Christians, who should rather take the lead in empowering these structures to serve their purpose to the glory of God.

Please contact us at safety@LawAndAudit.com if you or your church needs support to initiate a process to encourage Christians to contribute positively to solve the problem of crime in South Africa.
