Rehabilitation of offenders and consolation of victims are two of the major challenges facing the crime-ridden society of South Africa today. The Christian Church has an important calling to tackle this social disease in our country.
There are already a number of initiatives in place which are lead by Christians on biblical principles. With their assistance and guidance, it is possible to empower Christians throughout South Africa to render this invaluable service.
Restorative justice programmes provide an alternative to incarceration, which can contribute significantly to alleviate the problem of over-crowding in our prisons, while contributing to the plight of innocent victims and giving hope to perpetrators who are nevertheless subjects of God's love.
Christian restorative justice initiatives also provide an opportunity for Christians to extend a helping hand to the personnel working under difficult circumstances in correctional facilities which lack adequate infrastructure.
Invitation to Christians
Please contact us at restore@LawAndAudit.com:
If you are participating in a Christian restorative justice initiative and you can contribute to empower other Christians to render such services, or
if you or your church would be interested in an empowerment course to launch a Christian restorative justice initiative.
